Cool Events

I have been trying to read in public more often. It has been both humbling and exhilarating. Check below for upcoming reading dates and reports about past shows. I’ll also post upcoming events that I think are cool to check out.

Parapluie Creative Series Readings

I have been reading regularly at the Parapluie Creative Series in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. This is a fantastic series with writers, musicians, actors, improv groups, and spoken word artists. The series creator Kristina Zacharias makes everyone feel welcome.

It’s a cool event. If you’re in town, bring a poem, a story, or some music. Or just bring yourself.

Reading at CityStorage Studios: Sat., Feb. 7 at 9p

I will be reading at CityStorage Studios on Saturday, February 7 at 9p. The selection will be recorded and hopefully available for download a few weeks later. There will be some great writers there and also some talented musicians, including The Mugs.

If you’d like to check it out, please contact me. It is invite only.

Deji at the BAG

I had a fantastic reading at the Brooklyn Artists Gym and Room 58 Salon. The event was inspirational – artists and writers both shared from their work.

The reading went well and I received some positive responses to my selection from Nigerians in Space. It was especially uplifting to be surrounded by so much talent — or not talent, but talent honed, after countless hours of work, into skill. Not only did the artwork impress, but so too did the selections of the other writers: Kayla Soyer-Stein, Terence Taylor, and Adam G.

Thank you to Erin Courtney and thank you to all friends for visiting.
