I found this review while doing research for my classes. I teach senior high school English and one of our required books is Kaffir Boy. I am showing District 9 this week and having students write an analysis of the film’s portrayal of Apartheid. You gave me a lot of good information and insights. Thanks!

was i right in thinking i heard xhosa spoken in the movie as they enter the nigerian compound. Once inside the language seems different but outside on the way in did a least one person speak xhosa?
